On June 2-3, 2021, as part of continued cooperation between the Staff of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and the U.S. Civilian Research and Development Foundation (CRDF Global) (supported by the U.S. Department of State), the Service for Critical Infrastructure Security of the NSDC Staff held the first practical online seminar “Critical Infrastructure Protection” for representatives of regional state administrations (RSA).

The purpose of the event is to provide maximum support to regional state administrations to implement the National Security Strategy, identify potential vulnerabilities and gain practical skills in protecting critical infrastructure from physical and cyber threats.

The participants of the seminar got acquainted with the basic concepts, challenges, and threats in the field of critical infrastructure protection.

After completing the theoretical part, during the command and staff exercises, the RSA representatives developed joint response and action plans for threats (including terrorist attacks, military aggression, hybrid threats) according to the scenario as close as possible to the real one.

The training was held at the request of the Service for Critical Infrastructure Security of the NSDC Staff by specialists from Sovereign Ventures LLC and Next Peak LLC USA.
