Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov met with the GLOBSEC delegation
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov met with a high-level delegation of the GLOBSEC international think tank in the framework of the delegation's visit to Ukraine.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on current security challenges in the world and the region, as well as strengthening the support of international partners for Ukraine on its path to victory in the aggressive war unleashed by russia.
According to the NSDC Secretary, at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, many people made mistakes in their calculations and forecasts about Ukraine, which "withstood and repelled the russian occupiers in a way that no one expected."
Today, due to the inability to win on the battlefield, Danilov noted, russia will try to achieve its plans "through internal destabilization - with the help of agents, collaborators and attempts to sow discord in Ukrainian society." Similarly, according to him, russia will continue to try to destabilize Europe and undermine unity in support of Ukraine, in particular by "spreading disinformation and conducting cyberattacks."
In this context, the NSDC Secretary emphasized the importance of the unity of the democratic civilized world in supporting Ukraine and stressed that "we should not be afraid of russia." "No one knows russia better than us, we know their Achilles' heel, but global cooperation and unity are needed for a common victory," he said. - "For Ukraine, a great victory will be the final resolution of the issue of russia, so that our children can live in safety and peace.
In his turn, the head of the delegation, the GLOBSEC President Robert Vash, noted that the organization was the first to open an office in Kyiv since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
According to Mr. Vash, russia's aggressive war against Ukraine has become "an attack against European civilization and values," and "the future of the whole of Europe is being decided in Ukraine." "You have shown unprecedented courage, resilience and creativity in countering russian aggression," he said.
The GLOBSEC President assured of his readiness to make every effort to support Ukraine and promote its position on global expert platforms.
