Air defence, drones, long-range, Pokrovsk axis: The President of Ukraine held a Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff meeting
Strengthening air defence, the decision on long-range capability, the production of Ukrainian drones, the operation in Kursk region, and the situation in Pokrovsk axis were the central issues discussed at the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff meeting held on Tuesday, 3 September.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that during the meeting, they had identified steps to make the use of air defence systems already available in Ukraine more effective.
«We are also working to obtain additional protection for Ukraine. We are counting on Patriot which is being prepared to be delivered by Romania. I will be grateful for this step of assistance from Romania. This is what will truly support our people, our country, our entire region», – said the President of Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy added that work with partners is underway to develop stronger solutions to support our defence - long-range solutions that could destroy a significant part of russian ballistics right before the launch.
«This is one of the key issues of this war in general. The issue of our long-range capability and the relevant permissions from our partners, long-range shells and missiles that we could use. russian strikes will be impossible if we are able to destroy the occupier's launchers where they are, as well as russian military airfields and logistics. Giving Ukraine such permissions and weapons is definitely the biggest step towards a real, just end to this war. russia simply does not know how to fight without terror - it is precisely terrorist strikes and the ability to sow destruction that replace both tactics and strategy of war for the russian leadership», – he stressed.
The meeting also focused on the situation with drones used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
«Our Ukrainian drones must be 100% effective, because it literally means that Ukraine will be 100% effective on the battlefield. And I thank all our people who are gaining this positive experience of using drones for Ukraine, who are sharing this experience with the troops. I thank everyone who produces and supplies drones. And I thank everyone who really accurately destroys the occupier and destroys the russian war potential - right there, on the enemy's territory», – said Zelenskyy.
According to the President of Ukraine, Chief of Staff Oleksandr Syrskyi reported to the Staff and detailed the situation at the front and the operation in Kursk region.
«Аctive actions in Kursk region continue to replenish the exchange fund for our state», – he explained.
As for Pokrovsk axis, as Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, there are solutions to strengthen our positions.
