A Roundup of Artificial Intelligence Developments in May-June 2026

The National Cybersecurity Coordination Center under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, in cooperation with the National Institute for Strategic Studies and the Center for Analysis and Development of Effective Policies, has prepared a new issue of AI Frontiers: Innovations, Breakthroughs, Challenges – an overview of key developments in artificial intelligence in May-June 2026.

May and June marked a new stage in global competition in the field of artificial intelligence. The race is no longer focused solely on developing the most powerful models, but increasingly extends to computing infrastructure, access to energy resources, data centers, semiconductors, and technological sovereignty. At the same time, governments are becoming more actively involved in AI development – not only as regulators, but also as strategic partners and direct participants in the global technology race.
