On Tuesday, April 1, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksandr Lytvynenko, held a meeting with the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kęstutis Budrys. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine, Inga Stanytė-Toločkienė, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Lithuania, Olha Nikitchenko.
In particular, the parties discussed increasing pressure on the russian federation, in particular through sanctions.
The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine thanked the people of Lithuania for their effective multi-format assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale russian aggression and informed the delegation about the security situation on the front lines, outlining Ukraine's key defense needs to continue the fight against the russian aggressor.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, emphasized that Lithuania is one of Ukraine's closest allies and will continue to provide comprehensive assistance to Ukraine.
«One of the effective tools for exerting pressure on the russian federation is strengthening sanctions. Partners must continue working in this direction and support Ukraine», - the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania emphasized.
During the dialogue, the participants identified priorities for deepening bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.
