Oleksii Danilov addressed the Parliament and the Government regarding the algorithm of elaboration and adoption of strategic planning documents in the national security and defense spheres

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov addressed the Parliament and the Government regarding the algorithm of elaboration and adoption of strategic planning documents in the national security and defense spheres.

After the approval of National Security Strategy of Ukraine by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on September 14 this year, authorities have to develop a set of documents.

The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine noted that according to the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of September 14, 2020 "On the National Security Strategy of Ukraine", which was enacted by the Presidential Decree of September 14, 2020 № 392, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the state organs in the relevant national security spheres submit to the NSDC for approval the Human Development Strategy, the Strategy of Military Security of Ukraine, the Strategy of Public Security and Civil Protection of Ukraine, the Strategy of Development of the Defense Industry of Ukraine, the Strategy of Economic Security, the Strategy of Biosafety and Biological Protection, the Strategy of Information Security, the Strategy of Cybersecurity of Ukraine, the Foreign policy Strategy, the State Security Strategy and the National Intelligence Program drafts.

By this decision the Government was also assigned to develop and approve the Energy Security Strategy, the Environmental Security and Climate Change Adaptation Strategy, the Integrated Border Management Strategy and the Food Security Strategy.

The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine proposes to include to interagency working groups representatives of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine committees, the Office of the President of Ukraine, the NSDC of Ukraine Staff, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Strategic Studies National Institute and the community.

According to O. Danilov, taking into account the dynamic situation changes in Ukraine and the world, which affect the state of national security of our Country, it is necessary to determine for responsible executors the shortest terms to develop mentioned normative acts drafts - no more than three months, and the Verhovna Rada should swiftly consider law drafts related to the National Security Strategy of Ukraine and relevant strategic documents.
