Experts of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine took part in the workshop “Risk Assessment in the Field of Chemical Industry Safety”
On November 11-15, with the support of the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Foundation for Civilian Research and Development (CRDF Global), with the assistance of the Critical Infrastructure Security Service of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, and with the participation of expert trainers from AcuTech Consulting Group (USA), a workshop on “Risk Assessment in the Chemical Industry Security” was held in Kyiv under the project “Protecting Ukraine's Critical Chemical Infrastructure from Ongoing Russian Aggression.”
During the workshop, participants had the opportunity to learn the basic principles of assessing risks and security threats for a chemical facility, conduct practical exercises to assess vulnerabilities and develop possible emergency scenarios. The participants also took part in a command and control exercise on security risk assessment on a model of the facility at the J. Kuzmych Training Center for Physical Protection, Accounting and Control of Nuclear Material.
The seminar was attended by more than 25 representatives of sectoral and functional authorities in the field of critical infrastructure protection and higher education institutions of the country.
