Oleksiy Danilov: The NSDC Staff has prepared a draft decision of the Council on imposing sanctions against Russian social networks and Internet services, including Mail.ru, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki and others

The issue of restrictive measures (sanctions) against Russian social networks and Internet services, including Mail.ru, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki and others, is under the control of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and has been fully elaborated by the Staff of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

In order to apply restrictive measures (sanctions) and prepare a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov sent relevant letters to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the National Bank of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine asking for proposals on this issue.

Based on the proposals submitted by these subjects, the NSDC Staff has prepared a draft decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

The draft NSDC decision provides for sanctions against more than four hundred legal entities and individuals, including Russian social networks and Internet services, in particular, Mail.ru, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki and others.

This issue will be submitted for consideration at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, which will take place in the nearest future.
