Serhii Demediuk: Sectoral sanctions are a step towards isolating russia and belarus from the civilised world
MPs’ support for the resolution approving the decision of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine on sectoral restrictive measures against the defence industrial sector of the russian federation and the republic of belarus is a step towards isolating them from the civilised world. This was stated by Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Serhii Demediuk in his speech during the meeting of the National Security, Defence and Intelligence Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
He emphasised that the resolution of the NSDC of Ukraine envisages the imposition of sectoral sanctions for 50 years.
According to the document, it is proposed to prohibit transactions in goods and services with residents of the russian federation and the republic of belarus, including those involving residents of other states; to suspend the fulfilment of economic and financial obligations in favour of residents of russia and belarus on transactions with military and dual-use goods; to prohibit the transfer of technologies, rights to intellectual property objects by residents of russia and belarus, as well as the registration and accreditation of collective management organisations founded by residents of russia and belarus; to terminate joint projects and industrial programmes in the security and defence sector involving residents of russia and belarus in relation to military and dual-use goods.
