Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine: A common vision of the European security architecture should be an important factor in the victory
To win the war against the russian federation, Ukraine needs not only weapons, finances, and sanctions, but also a clear vision of a better future. This was emphasised by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Lytvynenko during a meeting with a delegation from the Polish Institute of International Relations (PISM, Warsaw) and the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS, Washington).
Oleksandr Lytvynenko thanked the Western colleagues for supporting Ukraine in its fight against the russian aggressor, and underlined the importance of further comprehensive assistance.
"Ukraine is fighting not only for itself. Ukraine is paying a high price for the security of the West. The only obstacle for Putin is a powerful and effective Ukrainian army. But to resist, we need weapons, financial support and sanctions against russia," he said, adding that our victory will ensure peace for at least two future generations.
The parties discussed international cooperation and the current military and political situation in Ukraine.
In particular, Slawomir Dębski, Director of the Polish Institute of International Relations (PISM), expressed his support for Ukraine.
