Extension of martial law and mobilization: NSDC Secretary submits two draft laws to Parliament
On Wednesday, January 15, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine extended martial law and general mobilization from February 8 to May 9, 2025.
The draft laws on approving the Presidential Decrees “On Extension of Martial Law in Ukraine” and “On Extension of General Mobilization” were presented in the Parliament by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Lytvynenko.
The last time martial law and general mobilization were extended was in November 2024. For the first time, martial law was introduced in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced on February 24, 2022, in connection with the full-scale military aggression of the Russian Federation.
