Discussed Special Issues of State Resilience: Results of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff Meeting
On Monday, March 3, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff. The primary focus was on defense capability, financial stability, and state resilience.
“Today, the Staff addressed some special issues of our state resilience—we are working through all possible scenarios to ensure Ukraine’s protection. The fundamental scenario is to maintain our positions and create conditions for the right diplomatic efforts, aiming for the swiftest possible end to this war with a just peace,” emphasized the President of Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine needs a true and honest peace, not an endless war, as well as security guarantees.
“The lack of security guarantees for Ukraine 11 years ago enabled russia to start with the occupation of Crimea and the war in Donbas. Later, the absence of such guarantees allowed russia to launch a full-scale invasion. And now, due to the lack of defined security guarantees, it is russia that keeps this war ongoing. The entire world sees this, and the entire world acknowledges it,” the President stated.
During the meeting, significant emphasis was placed on analyzing new support packages and military equipment supply contracts.
In particular, the President noted that Ukraine had achieved positive results in artillery contracts.
“We have achieved good results in artillery contracts—Ukraine needs a strong foundation,” stated Volodymyr Zelenskyy, highlighting the importance of strengthening artillery capabilities.
Among the priorities, as the Head of State mentioned, are unmanned aerial vehicles: “Drones remain an integral element of defense, and work continues on expanding their capabilities.”
Regarding air defense, Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to Lithuania for the systems that have already arrived in Ukraine. This marks another step in strengthening the security of Ukrainian skies:
“Air defense: additional systems have now arrived in Ukraine from Lithuania. Thank you very much, Mr. President,” he emphasized.
During the Staff meeting, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal reported on the country’s financial situation, assuring that all needs will be met. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in turn, summarized that the financial situation remains under control and that Ukraine will be able to navigate 2025 with the necessary resources.
