Civilian protection in the national security system: Representative of the NSDC of Ukraine took part in the panel discussion of the international forum
The international forum “Humanitarian Architecture and Development of Civil Protection System in Ukraine”, initiated by the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, was held in Kyiv. The key topic of the event was how to create an effective system to protect people during and after the war.
The forum brought together representatives of state authorities, the European Commission for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid, military administrations and local governments, Ukrainian Red Cross Societies, volunteer movements of Ukraine and the European Union. The event was also attended by Iryna Tymoshenko, Head of the Critical Infrastructure Security Service of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
During the panel discussion “Civil Protection as the Basis of National Security”, Iryna Tymoshenko expressed her position on the main challenges faced by the state in ensuring the protection of critical infrastructure.
The forum participants also discussed new steps in Ukraine's civil protection and integration into the European civil protection mechanism, as well as the supporting role of the public sector in the country's civil protection.
The forum was another important step towards creating a strong, cohesive and resilient system capable of responding jointly and professionally to the challenges posed by Russian aggression.
