Oleksandr Turchynov: the NSDC may consider the imposition of martial law
In the case of continuation of the dangerous deterioration of the situation in the east of Ukraine, in order to protect the integrity of our country and the security of the citizens, the NSDC may include the issue of the imposition of martial law in the agenda. This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov in his comment.
According to him, the active aggressive actions of the Russian occupation troops lead to the systematic deterioration of the situation in the east of the country. "Continuous shellings with the use by the Russian aggressors of powerful weapons, modern means of guidance and correction of fire prohibited by the Minsk agreements lead to heavy losses among our military. Over the last day, we lost seven Ukrainian soldiers, 14 were injured", - he said underlining that our military "strictly abide by the Minsk agreements and use weapons only in response to bloody provocations of the Russian invaders".
NSDC Secretary informed that through diplomatic channels Ukraine informed its Western partners about cynical and arrogant violation of the Minsk agreements by the aggressor. "In the case of continuation of these dangerous trends, Ukraine will take all necessary measures to protect the integrity of our country and the security of the citizens, right up to inclusion of the issue of the imposition of martial law in the NSDC agenda", - Mr. Turchynov stated.
