The NSDC Staff initiates cooperation with the Ukrainian Red Cross

The Staff of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine together with the Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for Volunteer Affairs are launching joint coordination with the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.

The purpose of such cooperation is to consolidate joint efforts aimed at protecting national security, implement measures directed at ensuring human rights and fundamental freedoms, providing timely assistance to those who need it, as well as conducting informational and educational work with the population to increase knowledge about actions in case of threat to life and health.

Concerted actions of the NSDC Staff, the Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for Volunteer Affairs and the Ukrainian Red Cross Society will help solve not only important humanitarian issues but also protect the national interests of Ukraine, as this year, in addition to the exhausting armed conflict in the East, Ukraine has faced new challenges: the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and numerous large-scale catastrophes, natural disasters and emergencies in various regions of Ukraine. As a result, tens of thousands of people find themselves in the open air, without vital and necessary things, in need of additional support and a sense of security.

Joint coordination with the Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for Volunteer Affairs and the NSDC Staff will provide new opportunities to help the most vulnerable groups affected by armed conflict, pandemics or natural disasters", - Director-General of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society Maksym Dotsenko said.

It should be noted that one of the important activities of the Ukrainian Red Cross of Ukraine is to assist public medical institutions in overcoming coronavirus infection. In particular, to provide medical institutions with equipment and personal protective equipment, which is essential for the protection of doctors who are at the forefront fight against COVID-19.
