NCCC representatives discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in the field of cybersecurity with the Minister of Civil Defense of Sweden
Serhii Demediuk, Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and Head of the NCCC, met with Carl-Oscar Bolin, Minister of Civil Defense of Sweden. The meeting was devoted to discussing key challenges faced by Ukraine and Sweden in the field of cybersecurity and countering disinformation, as well as prospects for deepening partnership in these areas.
The main focus was on the exchange of experience in cybersecurity and countering disinformation, in particular the “lessons learned” by Ukraine during Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The Swedish side expressed interest in studying these approaches to strengthen its own cyber defense.
‘Ukraine has gained unique experience in countering Russian cyber aggression, and we are ready to share this knowledge with our international partners. After all, Russia is waging a hybrid war aimed not only against Ukraine, but also against our NATO allies, using cyberattacks and disinformation as key tools of influence. Effective counteraction to these challenges requires consolidated efforts and strengthening of international cooperation in the field of cybersecurity,‘ said Sergiy Demediuk.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the Center for Countering Disinformation, and the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection. The event emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Sweden in strengthening cyber resilience, which is essential for ensuring the national security of both countries.
