Ukraine and Thailand concluded an agreement on joint production of armored personnel carriers

Ukraine and the Kingdom of Thailand signed a cooperation agreement on the organization of joint production of armored personnel carriers in the territory of Thailand. The document was signed in the framework of participation of the Ukrainian delegation in the international exhibition of armament "Defense&Security-2015", held in Bangkok (Kingdom of Thailand).

The delegation is headed by Minister of Defense Stepan Poltorak, as well it includes First Deputy to the Secretary of National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleg Hladkovskiy, the Head of State Concern "UKROBORONPROM" Roman Romanov, General Director of State Enterprise "UKRSPETSEXPORT" Pavel Bukin.

As part of the document the localization of production of armored vehicles from BTR-3 family in the Kingdom of Thailand is provided.

Nowadays within the frame of Ukrainian-Thai cooperation, pursuant to two previous contracts, Ukraine supplies to Thailand armored personnel carriers, tanks, support and service vehicles.

"Establishing of such production - is an opportunity to get not only additional financial revenues for Ukraine, but also to upgrade existing capacities for manufacturing and modernization of military equipment for our own use. In addition, it will be an excellent opportunity to strengthen Ukraine's positions in the Asian region", - Oleg Hladkovskiy said in his comment to journalists.
