Greetings of NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov on the occasion of the Day of Armed Forces of Ukraine

Today, at the Day of Armed Forces of Ukraine, I address to all the military, who everyday sincerely, faithfully and loyally serve the Ukrainian people.

In times, when Independence and Sovereignty of our State pass the endurance test, when perseverance of our strength and spirit are being tested, the true defenders of Ukraine courageously on the front lines stand up for our European future.

Protection of the homeland has always been true vocation and duty of real men. The best combat traditions of Ukrainian army were formed in severe bloody wars and conflicts from the times of Kievan Rus to Second World War. And now our Heroes are giving a resolute response to aggressor and are full of determination to go all the way to the final victory over the enemy. Exactly therefore we have no doubts: Ukrainian army has once again confirmed that it is the source of national pride, a reliable guarantor of stability and security of the State.

Today is your holiday, dear friends! Ukrainian Army is strong with you. Your courage and indomitable spirit are able to overcome any obstacles. In the memory of present and future descendants the exploits of many generations of warriors-defenders as well as your boundless dedication to the cause, love for the homeland, patriotism and heroism will remain forever.

I heartily congratulate you on the holiday! I wish you good health, professional mastery, courage and unwavering faith in our bright victory. May God bless and protect you, your families and our Ukraine!
