Volodymyr Putin is building a dangerous totalitarian governance model in Russia. This was stated by Secretary of National Security and Defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov at the meeting with Foreign Minister of Norway Børge Brende.

During the meeting the sides discussed the current situation in the east of Ukraine, Russia attempts to aggravate the situation and deploy a new offensive in Donbas, the prospects for reform of the security and defense sector of Ukraine and support to these efforts by Norway, as well as the development of cooperation between both countries.

"We thank the Government of Norway for its consistent support for Ukraine", - said O. Turchynov and added that today it is important to prevent the lifting of sanctions on Russia. "It is important to continue and expend the sanctions on Russia, because it is the only one peaceful mechanism to stop the further militarization of the Russian Federation", - he added.

The Secretary of NSDC of Ukraine emphasized that Putin is building a dangerous totalitarian governance model, so for him "Russia's economic growth is not as important as military victories, which can be another reason for the military aggravation in the east of Ukraine."

Also, the sides discussed the possibility to provide military-technical assistance to Ukraine. In this context, B.Bronge noted that it is planned to devote considerable attention to this issue during the NATO summit in Poland. "We will remain your partner and support in the future Ukraine and its people on its way to Europe", - said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway.
