Oleksandr Turchynov: The reason for the withdrawal of Russian officers from the Joint Coordination Center for Ceasefire Monitoring is Putin’s election campaign
The reason for the withdrawal of Russian officers from the Joint Coordination Center for Ceasefire Monitoring is Putin's election campaign. This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov in his answer to the journalists' questions on Thursday in Kyiv.
Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine pointed that the withdrawal of Russian officers from the Joint Coordination Center for Ceasefire Monitoring (JCCCM) was "a very treacherous action of the Russian Federation, aimed at disavowing of any peaceful, diplomatic, political way of stopping the military aggression they unleashed".
"There are no objective reasons for terminating the work of Russian representatives in the JCCCM. The reason for this provocation is purely political - it's Putin's election campaign, during which the increase in bloody provocations and intensification of hostilities are possible", - Mr. Turchynov stated.
At the same time, he expressed hope that "mechanisms for replacing Russians in the JCCCM and restoring the work of this important body will be found". "The Armed Forces of Ukraine are ready to repel any manifestations of Russia's military aggression", - Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine stressed.
