Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov took part in the All-Ukrainian rewriting of the Bible, which takes place on the initiative of the Ukrainian Bible Society.
According to Mr. Turchynov, this initiative "is extremely important, because the Bible is the main heritage of mankind". "It is symbolic that Ukrainians from different corners of our state will be united with the Word bearing Truth and Love", - the NSDC Secretary said.
According to the project
of the Ukrainian Bible Society, anyone can write one of the verses of the Holy
Scripture into pre-arranged sheets, from which the manuscript Bible will
subsequently be formed. Over 30 thousand citizens from all regions of
Ukraine joined the campaign including well-known political and state figures,
scientists, artists and representatives of various Christian denominations.
