Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov participated in the presentation of the cybersecurity training situation center of the Institute of Special Communication and Information Security
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov participated in the presentation of the cybersecurity training situation center of the Institute of Special Communication and Information Security of the National Technical University of Ukraine «Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» and met with professors and students of the educational institution.
During the event, the Institute's staff and cadets spoke about the major directions of the Institute's work, the processes of modernizing the training of military and civilian personnel, as well as the achievements of the Institute's cadets and graduates.
In addition, the Institute top management presented to the Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine the peculiarities of functioning of the cybersecurity training situation center, in particular, the capabilities of the center for audit and evaluation of computer systems security, intelligence and forecasting of cyber incidents, modeling and prevention of cyberattacks.
The NSDC Secretary acknowledged the high level of the teaching staff of the Institute of Special Communication and Information Security and stressed the need to strengthen the training of military cybersecurity specialists. In particular, according to Mr. Danilov, they need to be given more practical opportunities to apply the knowledge gained, focusing on the prospects of conducting pen-tests in state institutions.
According to Mr. Danilov, "cyber, IT and big data analysis are key priorities for Ukraine". "This is the future of our state", - he said expressing his belief in the need to increase the number of cadets prepared from 140 to 200 and to engage them in the work of the National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity, in particular.
The NSDC Secretary also took part in the ceremony of laying flowers to the memorial board to the intelligence officer, Major-General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Hero of Ukraine Maksym Shapoval.
