An interagency working group has been set up at the NSDC Staff to prepare proposals for budget funding of the security and defense sector

In accordance with the fifth paragraph of point 1 of part 4 of the Law of Ukraine “On the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine” the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, in particular, develops and considers at its meetings a draft law on the State Budget of Ukraine and proposals to the Budget Declaration related to ensuring national security and defense of Ukraine.

In 2022, it is planned to hold meetings of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to consider proposals for the Budget Declaration for 2023-2025 and the draft Law of Ukraine “On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2023” on articles related to national security and defense of Ukraine.

On January 4, this year, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov signed a regulation on establishing an interagency working group to prepare materials for these meetings in a timely and quality manner.

First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Colonel-General Ruslan Khomchak has been appointed the head of the interagency working group. The working group includes representatives of all subjects of the security and defense sector of Ukraine, the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, and the Staff of the NSDC of Ukraine.

Based on the results of the group’s work, materials should be submitted for the NSDC Secretary’s consideration before the Council’s meetings on these issues within the time limits established by law.
