Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov discussed enhancing of military support for Ukraine with Minister of Defense of the Netherlands Kajsa Ollongren
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov held a meeting with Defense Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Kajsa Ollongren during her visit to Ukraine.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of Ukrainian-Dutch cooperation and the strengthening of Dutch support for Ukraine to win the war against the Russian aggressor.
The NSDC Secretary expressed his gratitude to the Dutch side for the comprehensive assistance provided to our state. “You are among the first European countries in terms of the level of support for Ukraine, we appreciate this very much”, - he said.
Mr. Danilov particularly noted the importance of the Netherlands’ supplying Ukraine with advanced weapons and welcomed the decision of the Netherlands on the participation of this country’s military servicemen in the training program for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is headed by the UK. “Thanks to the help of the world community, which professes democratic principles, we will definitely succeed, we have a lot of work ahead”, - he noticed, adding that Ukraine “will end the war on the borders of 1991”.
According to the NSDC Secretary, the support of the aggressive war in the russian society has changed over the past few months, “they no longer perceive what is happening so unanimously, the mood of concern and uncertainty is growing”, which, in turn, “will lead to irreversible processes”.
The parties paid special attention to deepening cooperation in the sphere of cybersecurity, in particular, within the framework of the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE). “Modern war is not only a conventional confrontation, the cyber component plays one of the leading roles in it, so maximum cooperation is needed here”, - Mr. Danilov underlined.
Moreover, the parties touched upon the issue of strengthening cooperation in the rehabilitation of Ukrainian war veterans.
In turn, Ms. Kajsa Ollongren assured of the unwavering position of the Netherlands in supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. “The Ukrainian military is doing an incredible job, Ukrainian society has shown remarkable resilience, and we strive to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with you in your fight”, - she said.
The Dutch defense minister noted the importance of strengthening EU and NATO unity in supporting Ukraine in its countering russia’s unprovoked aggression. Ms. Ollongren also expressed the Netherlands' readiness to further support Ukraine comprehensively, in particular with regard to providing the Ukrainian Armed Forces with weapons and military equipment, as well as developing the Ukrainian army’s abilities for the future.
