S. Demediuk: Ukraine is grateful to Estonia for help, in particular, in countering Russian propaganda and disinformation

Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Serhiy Demediuk held a meeting with the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Information Technologies of the Republic of Estonia Kristian Yarvan.

Serhiy Demediuk praised Estonia's experience in countering the russian federation in cyberspace, calling it a "flagship in the development of the cyber defense system", and also thanked Ukraine for its assistance, in particular, in countering russian propaganda and disinformation.

He emphasized that since 2014, all military operations of the russian federation have been accompanied by disinformation campaigns and aggression in cyberspace. "It is necessary to give a joint rebuff to the russians so that they do not attack anyone again," he said.

According to the Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, russia's goal is to deprive people of true information, and for this purpose a "complete information blockade" has been created in the russian federation, which the aggressor country is trying to extend to neighboring countries.

In this context, according to Serhiy Demedyuk, an important task is to build a system for detecting and tracking disinformation that is spread in the mass media and social networks, in particular, using artificial intelligence, for a timely response to disinformation releases.

In turn, Mr. Minister noted that Ukraine is now fighting for his country as well. "Every political party in Estonia believes that russia is an aggressor, and Ukraine should be helped as much as possible," he said.

The Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine demonstrated to K. Yarvan the capabilities of the situation center, in particular, the SOTA IAS.
