NCCC deepens cooperation with EUAM to strengthen cyber resilience of Ukraine and EU countries
On 14 March 2024, Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Serhii Demediuk, Head of the Information Security and Cybersecurity Service of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Nataliia Tkachuk and Head of the NCCC Support Department Serhii Prokopenko held a working meeting with the Head of the National and State Security Division of the European Union Advisory Mission Juha Vehmaskoski.
During the meeting, they discussed key aspects of cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union in cybersecurity. Particular attention was paid to the ways of enhancing practical cooperation for the effective development of Ukraine’s national cybersecurity system and sharing experience with EU countries.
“Enhancing cooperation with the European Union is strategically important for Ukraine, including in the field of cybersecurity. After all, russian cyber aggression has no boundaries, and attacks continue not only against Ukraine but also against our partners. Ukraine became the first country to face cyber warfare. And we are ready to share our experience and expertise to help each country become stronger in the face of new threats and counteract the common enemy”, – said Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Serhii Demediuk.
Head of the Information Security and Cybersecurity Service of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Natalia Tkachuk thanked the European Union for supporting Ukraine and added that joint efforts would help strengthen the European cybersecurity system.
“Last year, we started cooperation with the European Cyber Security Agency (ENISA). Ukraine is involved in shaping strategic approaches and developing new cybersecurity policies at the international level. In addition, we are ready to become a partner of the European Union in training cybersecurity specialists, based on our own experience and successful cases of countering russian aggression in the information and cyberspace”, – said Natalia Tkachuk.
The participants of the meeting expressed confidence in further successful cooperation and noted the importance of a long-term and effective exchange of information and experience in the field of cybersecurity to increase collective resilience in cyberspace across Europe.
