Oleksandr Lytvynenko: The primary task of the President of Ukraine is to ensure reliable functioning of the energy sector in the interests of Ukrainians
On Friday, 5 April, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Lytvynenko chaired a meeting at the NSDC Office on the implementation of the decisions of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine on the autumn-winter period and additional measures to strengthen national security in the energy sector during the special period.
Among the attendees of the meeting were Oleksandr Kubrakov, Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine and Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, Herman Galushchenko, Minister of Energy, Valerii Tarasiuk, Chairman of the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission, and heads of leading energy and oil and gas companies.
Consideration thereof was initiated by the President of Ukraine, taking into account the current security circumstances, the need to prepare for the next winter in advance, and the stable functioning of the energy sector in the face of massive russian shelling.
"The current situation in Ukraine's energy system requires urgent and decisive steps to stabilise it. In this regard, it is important to urgently take the necessary measures to significantly improve the stability of the Ukrainian energy system," Oleksandr Lytvynenko stressed.
The Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine stressed that the attendees of the meeting should work out the priority tasks to ensure proper living conditions, especially in the East and South, and to guarantee the energy security of our country.
