Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Lytvynenko met with the delegation of the EU Advisory Mission
On Monday, 20 May, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Lytvynenko met with the Head of the European Union Advisory Mission Rolf Holmboe. During the meeting, the parties discussed cooperation in supporting the overall reform process in Ukraine on its way to EU membership, as well as specific areas of support to the NSDC and Ukraine's security architecture.
Oleksandr Lytvynenko thanked the EUAM representatives for their consistent support of Ukraine and briefed Rolf Holmb on the current military and political situation.
For his part, the Head of Mission congratulated Oleksandr Lytvynenko on his appointment, and assured him of EUAM's continued support on Ukraine's path to EU membership, including in the important process of reforming the civilian security sector. Rolf Holmboe added that EUAM will continue to support the NSDC in further strengthening its key functions of strategic analysis, cyber security, countering disinformation and hybrid threats, strategic communications and critical infrastructure protection.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their hope for continued cooperation.
Background: Over the past few years, EUAM Ukraine has been privileged to develop a productive partnership with the NSDC Office, as well as organisations directly reporting to the Council, such as the National Coordination Centre for Cyber Security and the Centre for Countering Disinformation. EUAM stands ready to continue its support under the new enhanced mandate which will run from June 2024 to May 2027.
