Defensive actions at the front, operation in Kursk region: President of Ukraine chaired a Supreme Commander-in-Chief Staff's meeting

On Monday, 12 August, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy chaired a Supreme Commander-in-Chief Staff's meeting. The meeting addressed a number of issues.

In particular, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported on defensive actions at the front and the operation in Kursk region. He noted that Ukraine currently controls about 1000 km² of russian territory.

"We are grateful to all the soldiers and commanders for their resilience and decisive actions. Among other things, the Minister of Internal Affairs, other government officials and the Security Service of Ukraine have been instructed to prepare a humanitarian plan for the territory of the operation", - said the President of Ukraine.

The meeting also featured a report by the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko on increasing the share of Ukrainian production in public procurement.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the Coordination Headquarters, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs to prepare a strategy for the return of Ukrainians from russian captivity.

The Ministry of Defence and diplomats were tasked with presenting a list of necessary actions on the part of Ukraine to obtain permission from our partners to use long-range weapons to defend our territory.
