Frontline, weapons, prisoner exchange: The President of Ukraine chaired Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff meeting
On Thursday, 15 August, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy chaired Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff meeting. The main issues discussed included the frontline, weapons, prisoner exchange, and legislative initiatives.
According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the strategy for the return of Ukrainians from russian captivity was presented at the meeting.
"There are many delicate details. It concerns the formation of lists. It concerns work with partners. I have instructed the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine to present to the public the details that our people need to know about how we return prisoners.
I also instructed to involve NGOs of relatives of Ukrainian military and civilians who are now in captivity in this work. We need to build trust", - emphasised the President of Ukraine.
Chief of Staff Oleksandr Syrskyi reported on the situation at the frontline. According to him, most russian attacks are taking place in the direction of Toretsk and Pokrovsk. It is there that the maximum defence attention is focused.
"The priority supply is there. Everything that is needed now", - he stressed.Oleksandr Syrsky also reported on the operation in Kursk region.
"Since the start of the offensive in the Kursk region, our troops have advanced 35 km into the enemy's territory, taking control of 1,150 square kilometres of territory and 82 settlements, and the situation is generally under control", - said Syrsky.
